BOLDROCKET Launches a Materialise 3D-Printed Rocket
BOLDROCKET has an ambitious plan: to deliver aspiring business and technology solutions to the finance services industry that changes the traditional way that people think. Set out with a mission to foster a creative environment in the office, D+DS architecture designed the office and approached Materialise to print a 3.7-meter-long orange rocket for BOLDROCKET’s new office in London. The giant rocket sits suspended in the air alongside a wall patterned with plants that mimic the smoke bellowing out of a rocket at take-off.
What better piece could serve as a source of inspiration than a giant 3D-printed rocket symbolizing adventure to other worlds and created with an innovative technology?
.MGX Pieces Spotted in De Bijenkorf’s Inspiration Magazine
Dutch department store De Bijenkorf used .MGX pieces in the September 2014 edition of their Inspiration Magazine. Some of the items photographed by Solar Initiative that are showcased in the magazine are Niccolò Casas’s head pieces, Elvis Pompilio’s hats, and Arik Levy’s Black_Honey.MGX.
.MGX at SOURCE – Self-Made Design Exhibition
Art history meets contemporary art with the arrival of .MGX items at the Limonaia di Villa Strozzi, the beautiful 19th-century neoclassical villa, in Florence. Amniosya, the design team and i.materialise 2013 Designer of the Year, invited .MGX to showcase their Gamete.MGX by Xavier Lust, One_Shot.MGX by Patrick Jouin and Lily.MGX by Janne Kyttanen during their SOURCE exhibition. The exhibition, running from September 11 to 18th, 2014, is intended to spark the audience’s imagination by featuring pieces that give insight into the possible future scenarios of production, with .MGX pieces demonstrating the potential of 3D printing.
Inspire Yourself with Elvis Pompilio’s .MGX Designs
Just as De Bijenkorf included Elvis-Pompilio-designed items in their inspiration collection, you too can be inspired by these pieces on a daily basis by adding them to your personal collection. Celebrated designs are within every fashionistas’ reach
At .MGX we understand that life isn't always easy. In our daily lives we tend to get caught up in getting things done and being efficient, rather than just "being".
That's why we've challenged some of the top design minds in the world to use some very special 3D technologies to create some very special products. Lamps and furniture that can brighten a room, or furnish a house, but that also soothe the soul and engage both the imagination and the senses. Products that create a magical atmosphere for connecting with yourself or connecting with friends.
Manufactured using a variety of 3D printing methods, the .MGX by Materialise collection combines the best of modern and traditional craftsmanship. Our 3D technologies allow for the production and customization of shapes that would otherwise be impossible to realise. And whether formed out of epoxy or polyamide, each piece is individually drawn and created by laser beam, and carefully finished by hand.
